Shakespeare Festival

"Shakespeare is best learned in the act of doing and performing his words." - Folger's Shakespeare Library

The Student Shakespeare Festival is a teacher training project that culminates in 8-10 minute student performances. Each participating teacher collaborates with their students to devise, rehearse, and perform a piece of theatre using Shakespearean language and explore the timelessness of Shakespearean themes. The goal is to foster the spirit of collaboration and bravery between teachers and students. This provides a forum for teachers to spice up their tools of creativity, inspire themselves and engage their students towards a Shakespeare performance that celebrates and communicates their connection to contemporary themes and the Bard's legacy.

For more information about our next Shakespeare Festival, scheduled for April 23, 2010, please email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
